After nearly 30 years in the fashion industry, we know a thing or two about print.
Lisa our founder has worked with major brands and retailers, and one conversation comes up time and time again:
“Why aren’t our printed dresses performing?”
Because here’s the truth, it’s often not the print.
Printed dresses are powerful. They anchor collections. They set the colour direction. And most importantly, customers love them.
The modern woman isn’t done with print.
She wears it to stand out, to express herself, to avoid blending into a sea of plain product.
Whatever her reason, she’s still buying.
So when printed dresses don’t sell, something else is off.
What I see time and time again:
→ A print forced into a colour palette that doesn’t belong to the brand
→ A palette that’s too soft or mistimed for the season
→ A strong print sitting on the wrong shape
→ A lack of clear identity when it comes to print direction
Print is often the first thing to be blamed, but rarely the real issue.
I don’t believe printed dresses are driven by catwalk trends.
And I don’t believe they’re a “nice to have.” They are actually a ‘must have’ for many women.
When done right, they are a commercial engine.
Getting the right print, on the right garment, for the right brand, that’s where experience matters.
With nearly 30 years in the industry, multiple bestsellers behind me, and a studio built on directional print design, I help brands turn print into something that not only looks beautiful, but delivers. Head to our testimonials on our front page for brand bestsellers.
If you’re questioning your print direction, or want to understand why your dresses aren’t landing, let’s talk.
