Meet Louise.
Louise Boulton is an Artist Printmaker who studied BA(Hons) Graphic Design specialising in Scientific Illustration at Middlesex University, London, where she developed her skills in observational drawing.
Having worked as a Graphic Designer in publishing she developed her own practice at Spike Print Studio, Bristol. Her inspiration often comes from visits to botanical gardens where she produces drawings from life. The screen prints are made by preparing a number of silkscreens with designs which are then hand printed in sequence with inks using a squeegee. Her recent work combines bold colour with scientific draughtsmanship, taking botanical art to a contemporary level.
Her work has been exhibited at The University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Mostyn Gallery, Wales, The Bishops Palace, Wells and Trebah Garden, Cornwall. Alongside her creative practice she partakes in international art residencies and has lectured at The London College of Fashion & London College of Communication.
We love working with Coco Bloom because of the originality of the work. We look for prints that are in step with current zeitgeist and mood but don't mimic them. We love truly individual and unique prints, which is what Coco Bloom delivers.
