At our London Printed Textile Studio, we pride ourselves on creating our own trends. Drawing inspiration from our worldly travels, exhibitions we've attended, new cultures we've encountered, significant art movements, and the natural forms and wildlife that surround us, there's always a source of creativity to tap into. The key is to stay observant and open to everything around us.
Colour TrendWe research color trends for the upcoming season, emphasizing the importance of color as a starting point. Ensuring we capture the right hues to form our color groups is crucial. We experiment with color combinations, embracing quirky and unique pairings, while always ensuring they harmonize beautifully.
At CocoBloom, we showcase our printed textile collections in cohesive color groups. Our artists design within predetermined color palettes, ensuring that when the collection is printed, all the designs seamlessly complement each other. This approach guarantees a harmonious and visually appealing presentation.
The Pattern Painting Process
We always begin our design journey with painting or drawing, using brushes and pens. As a handcrafted design house, original craftsmanship is crucial to us. We do not use Procreate or A.I for our designs; instead, every piece is created by hand, ensuring authenticity and a personal touch in each design.
We also employ traditional textile printing methods in our design process, including mono printing, hand painting on silk, screen printing, devorés, ice dyeing, marbling, and etching on silk. These techniques allow us to create unique and intricate designs, showcasing our commitment to craftsmanship and artistic expression.
Putting our artwork together to create Printed Textile DesignsOur founder and artists bring many years of experience to the table, making their skills second to none. They meticulously create repeated artwork for every design, ensuring seamless patterns and high-quality results. We handle all the hard work, so all you need to do is spec it for the factory.
The designs are then printed onto Silk Satin, a fabric we believe truly elevates the artwork and showcases it in its best light. The luxurious texture and sheen of Silk Satin enhance the colors and details, adding an elegant touch to each piece.
The Final TouchesOnce the designs have been cut out, we mount them onto our branded headers, add design numbers, and curate them into their collections. Each design is meticulously selected for each individual client before their appointment, ensuring that you are viewing prints that align perfectly with your brand. As we gain a deeper understanding of our clients' needs, this process becomes more streamlined, allowing us to design with you specifically in mind.
