FORMING OUR OWN PRINT TRENDS

FORMING OUR OWN PRINT TRENDS

Archive Printed Textile Design Trends

This week we are looking back in to our archive from last season, where we explored the use of medicinal plants and how they inspire us as textile designers. Medicinal plants have long been a source of inspiration in various fields, including art and design. Their forms, colours, and symbolic meanings can be woven into fabric patterns, textures, and even dye processes.
In textile design, plants like indigo (used for dyeing) or flowers and leaves with specific medicinal properties could be stylised in textile prints or used as motifs. Additionally, the sustainable and natural aspect of these plants can inspire designers to create eco-friendly textiles, perhaps using plant-based dyes or fibers.

Our london textile print studio, takes a unique approach by focusing on lesser-known medicinal plants, which often get overshadowed by more popular choices like peonies and roses. By bringing these overlooked plants into the spotlight, Cocobloom is not only celebrating their beauty but also their historical and cultural significance.

Our methods in creating Designs

The studio's method of layering techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces likely allows for a rich exploration of texture, pattern, and color, drawing inspiration from the unique forms and properties of these plants. Each piece could tell a story, not just through its visual elements but also through the connection to the healing and restorative powers these plants symbolize.

This focus on medicinal plants could also speak to a broader trend of reconnecting with nature and traditional knowledge, particularly in urban environments like London. Our work resonates with those looking for authenticity and a deeper meaning in the textiles they choose to surround themselves with, as well as those interested in the sustainability and ethical aspects of design.

By highlighting plants that are often forgotten, we are preserving and elevating the stories of these natural elements, ensuring they remain part of our collective consciousness. This can inspire other designers to look beyond the obvious and explore the rich diversity of the plant world in their work.

From painting to finished Printed Artwork

Supersizing these floral elements not only elevates their presence but also allows for a more dramatic and immersive experience. Viewers can engage with the textures, colors, and forms in a way that might be overlooked in more traditional, smaller-scale compositions. This approach could also shift the focus from the typical arrangements or bouquets to the unique characteristics of each flower, emphasising its form and structure.

Continuing the exploration of single stem placements and supersized floral art into our current season and incorporating it into your Exclusive Collections is an exciting development. By building on last year's innovative approach, we are refining and expanding this concept, offering our clients an even deeper and more sophisticated experience within our work.

This progression pushes creative boundaries and explores the full potential of this modern take on the floral genre. By integrating these elements into our exclusive collections, we are offering pieces that not only stand out for their boldness and scale but also for their artistic and conceptual depth. Each piece could serve as a statement art object, transforming spaces with its presence and evoking a powerful connection to nature.

This ongoing exploration may also be resonating with current trends in interior design, where large-scale, impactful art pieces are increasingly favoured for their ability to anchor a room and define its aesthetic.
