Beyond the Hero Print: How Experience Shapes Our Bespoke Textile Collaborations

At CocoBloom, we understand the power of a statement print.

One that immediately captures attention, but also stays in one’s mind long after the initial viewing. They’re what we like to call our ‘hero’ prints, and they’re what our studio has become known for within the fashion and lifestyle industries.

These kinds of textile prints are what make fashion collections stand out and draw customers in, whether they’re featured in ad campaigns or window displays. However, we also know it’s not just about the prints. It’s about the dedication that goes into creating them, and the experience that shapes the process.

After our recent collaboration with UK-based outdoor brand Rohan, we thought it would be the perfect time to give a little more insight into our 30 year background in textile design and how it enhances our printmaking and collaboration process.

30 years of textile design: our background

Prior to launching CocoBloom Studios in 2019, our founder Lisa obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design and worked for some of the industry’s biggest names as a Textile Designer and Print Manager.

Her distinctive patterns weren’t just featured in best-selling fashion collections – they were also showcased in major publications such as Vogue, as well as prestigious catwalks during Fashion Week.

All of this experience has made Lisa a master when it comes to creating stunning textile patterns. It also taught her valuable professional skills and pertinent industry insights that help CocoBloom Studios go above and beyond during the client collaboration process.

More than just beautiful printed textiles

CocoBloom may have a stellar reputation for creating striking, one-of-a-kind prints, but our strengths also lie in our in-depth expertise of textile design, our industry and market knowledge, and our hands-on collaborative process.

We understand that it’s not just about the pattern itself. It’s about the textiles that will enhance it, the brand and its unique needs, and the necessary communication to build trust and confidence with our clients. It’s a holistic process, and we’re committed to excelling in every part of it.

While many competitor studios are run by talented creatives who can create interesting patterns, they often lack the industry expertise that we have at CocoBloom. We’ve worked as in-house textile designers, so we know how to find the perfect balance of creativity and commerciality. We understand the product development process and the importance of production timelines. How to create a print that’s unique enough to stand out, but is also desirable enough to feel current and wearable.

And, most importantly, we treat each bespoke commission as a partnership. We work with our clients rather than for them, exploring creative ideas together. As much as we value originality, we’re also dedicated to creating patterns that align with the brand’s distinct personality and DNA.

From well-established heritage brands to new independent labels, we pride ourselves on our ability to fully cater to our clients’ needs and exceed their expectations.
